Hidden treasures

Last year I was told that when our beetroots had pushed themselves above the soil (ie the red fleshy part) then they were ready to crop. However this year, I ran out of patience and dug one up to see how they were doing - lurking underneath the soil was these beasts - better get my picking vinegar out!
Also cropped today was courgettes, runnerbeans, and our earlier variety of potatoes - a rather poor yield but we have made a note for next year to ourselves - more manure.....

We 'asked finbow' and he said to lay our onions out on the ground to dry - please Lord no rain!

Yellow and Green, we can 't eat them quick enough!
