Increases in the number of cars we drive and urban sprawl are just two of the reasons you may have come to this decision.
There's not a one-stop answer to this problem and everybody has to look inward for a personal solution.
Selling the car and using a car-share scheme like the one at Zipcar could save you a fortune and I know public transport can sometimes leave a lot to be desired, but if you embrace a bit of tolerance, you might be able to work with that too occasionally!
However, as the slab-job has already been done, could you consider finding a place on the drive to plant tall trees or shrubs in tubs to decorate the area?
Anything you can do 'does' help, keep the drive semi-green!
