Our Ravishing Radishes

We're here, at last, we have our first crop, and it was soooo easy! We've been busy sowing inbetween the downpours of rain here in Colchester and now we can taste our success once again.
I didn't think I would ever get excited about some little cherry sized vegetable, but when you've grown them yourself and they're your first crop of the year then my feeling is you can excuse yourself.
Radishes of the French Breakfast variety a coming up plump and fast, not the hottest you would have ever tasted, but still, the add a nice after kick to a salad or stir fry.
We're planting them in two week stints for a constant supply, although something tells me Dean and I are going to eat them quicker than they can grow. Simply sow directly into the soil and they seem to be happy more or less anywhere although pick them as soon as they are ready, thye don't seem to like being left long.
So far our best crop recipe recommendation is - Radishes, Sour Cream and Sprat Pittas, sustainable, delicious and even better barbecued (the sprats not the radishes!)
