The Bag Lady
Submitted by Ella on Mon, 2008-07-21 09:37.So. I usually work the tramp look when I walk with the buggy. Not the clothing aspect, more the bags-hanging-everywhere angle. I decided that if I'm going to be on foot and public transport and all car-free-ish and that, I'd better sort my baggage out.
Oh my JellyBean. They've sorted my right out. Not only is Rudy's gear stored neat and compact in front of me, I actually have room underneath for my veg and shopping and all the other stuff I cart about.
The funky bag contains two insulated bottle pockets, changing mat, a place for me to keep my keys, shades, lip balm et al, and did I mention the gods that designed it chose magnetic fasteners to seal the bag so no Velcro to wake my sleeping urchin.
There is a god. In the name of JellyBean. Check out their fab website at www.jellybeangroup.com.
Mmmmmmm Organix
Submitted by Ella on Mon, 2008-07-21 09:22.Rudy's fave organic banana porridge pioneers have just spread a little sparkle in our pad. They've just launched a savoury range!
Perfect for when you're movin' and a shakin' and don't want to cart about last night's pasta bake.
The range features meat, veggie and first stage weaning options. Choose from -
Organic sweetcorn, carrot & pea
Organic butternut squash & chicken
Organic tomato & haricot bean casserole
Organic fruity chicken with wholegrain rice
Organic pasta stars with bolognaise sauce
Organic vegetables with rice & cheese
Organix developer Abby Chong told me: "The Organix Savory Pots contain a balance of wholesome nutrients, fibre and essential proteins.
And we're the only baby food company who use wholegrain rice and pasta in our savoury dishes, which means your baby stays satisifed for longer.

Tatty Bumpkin's bamboo sunshirt is my new friend
Submitted by Ella on Mon, 2008-06-23 13:39.This is def one of my summer must-haves. Not only is it lightweight, practical, made from a sustainable fabric, I'm safe in the knowledge that although my little jewel is slapped in suncream, the sunshirt is covering his delicate body.
It comes in a baby blue, pink or a funky pistachio (as modelled by Rudy).
Tatty Bumpkin reckon this is one of their best-sellers and have restyled the deisgn to include cuffed wrists and a higher hooded neck. The buffs have done the testing and it's classed as anti UVA which means the waves cannot penetrate the bamboo fibre, as it can with cotton.

My first crop on World Environment Day
Submitted by Ella on Thu, 2008-06-05 14:30.Whilst tip-toeing across the bank roof earlier this week I discovered my first fruits - three strawberries. One for me, one for Jay and one for Rudy.
I'm quite proud.
Car bootin' is good for the soul
Submitted by Ella on Tue, 2008-05-27 19:16.I decided to do a boot. Not only is a good clear out good for the soul, and your home. It's a good way to get rid of your clutter and rubbish, and recycle to someone that wants your toot.
So off I drove. I drove. It was about 9 miles away. We'll tackle that in the next blog. Anyway, I was packed to the roof clutching hot veggie sausage sarnies and luke warm tea I'd made at 5am.
I was swarmed as soon as I opened the car doors.
'Got any gold?'
'Got any costumes?'
'Got any mobile phone?'
These were the first things said to me on the field that morning.
I'd cleaned, packed up, and shined all of Rudy's newborn and early baby clothes and accessories as well as various objects of mine including 40 peacock feathers from my fancy dress outfit, a 'what to do in an emergency' book and a secret stash jar. read more »
Super cute eco lunchbug!
Submitted by Ella on Tue, 2008-05-13 11:58.Submitted by Penninah
Ok, so I found this company on one of my many google searches. I was trying to find a bib for my daughter that wasn't full of nasties! Mimi the Sardine was the answer. An American company run by the very helpful Pia Andersson.
I fell in love immediately with the mouse print fabric although there are several other very funky prints. Their range include bibs, lunch bugs/bags, very cute aprons, table covers, splash mats or you can simply purchase the material and do whatever catches your imagination with it!
The fabric is Oeko-tex certified eco friendly. (www.oeko-tex.com) No chemicals here. It is wipe clean/machine washable, water and soil resistant and biodegradable. read more »
