Go Tom Go!

One of the best things about working on the Sustained Magazine project is the wonderful people you get to meet along the way. This year I hope  to get out of the office more and start making some sustainable friends, and the first person on my list to give a bell is Blake Mycoskie, who in 2006 founded TOM's Shoes.

Blake made a commitment to produce stylish, comfortable, and practical footwear while improving the lives of children around the world.  How? Every pair sold is personally matched with a donated pair to a child in need.

Available in eighteen colors and combinations for both men and women, TOMS debut collection is inspired by Alpargatas, the trusted utility shoe of Argentine workers. “I was overwhelmed by the spirit of the South American people, especially those who had so little,” Mycoskie says.  “And I was instantly struck with the desire – the responsibility – to do more.

I've done a bit of digging around, but as yet, I cant find a UK supplier - but watch this space, and be sure to ask them when they'll  be launching in the UK yourself at www.tomsshoes.com

The sooner the better in my book!
