What is an ethical, eco-celebrity?
Good question.
I'd say it's a person in the public eye who uses their position of influence to help spread the good, green word.
A few instantly spring to mind - Sting, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Colin Firth, across the pond, there's Julia Roberts, Robert Redford....the list goes on and on (thankfully)...
So I've decided to make it a mission this year to contact a few to find out what pearls of wisdom they have on ways we can be kind to our planet and also to probe them for 'realistic' tips to help us all slow down and green up.
Today, I've had the pleasure of communication with Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, diverse and inovative urban designers, co-founders of the 'Red or Dead' label, and many other projects.
They are also firm supporters of 'Traid' (Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development) - a charity committed to protecting the environment and reducing world poverty through recycling and delivering educational programmes and campaigning within the UK.
If you'd like to know what they had to say, you need to hop across to the 'Celebrity Support' page of National Downshifting Week in a few days and have a read!
And also, in the wild and unpredictable event that YOU are also an ethical, eco-celebrity, drop me a line with your inspirational entry and I'll sort it out.
......What?.......
Believe me, stranger things have happened...
