It's all me, me, me...

Well hello there. Just thought I'd pop up a little note about myself, since I'm the latest addition to the Sustained fold. I'll be sharing what I've found out on all topics homes-y, from 'green' cleaning products to eco-friendly housebuilding and all sorts of things in between.
Here's 10 things you may (or may not!) like to know about me:
- I live in a Victorian semi, and I think old houses are the best - after all, trad building methods were way more eco-friendly...
- This year, in my small courtyard garden, I'm growing (organically, of course) salad leaves, tomatoes, potatoes, herbs, courgettes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, French beans and redcurrants.
- I've only used one tank of petrol in the last two months. I'm lucky, I mainly work from home, and when I'm not, I walk to the office. My hubby does commute, but he carshares...
- I like knitting (but I'm not very good).
- I'm not veggie, although I love vegetarian food. We don't eat meat that often, but when we do, it's organic and generally locally-sourced.
- I love cooking, especially baking.
- I'm a fan of the old ethos of 'make do and mend'. Although I do feel that re-vamping things can result in some fabulous results, so there's not much 'making do' going on!
- A few weeks ago I was made ridiculously happy when I heard that our council would now be recycling almost all types of plastic - 'bout time too!
- I'm not a fan of new furniture - I'd rather go vintage.
- I'd love to do a self-build project one day. I've got it all planned out in my head already - the style, the layout, the eco-features such as rainwater harvesting and ground-source heat pump. All I need is the funding! Now, where did I put that lottery ticket...
More from me anon...
