A Squash Sensation?

One of the most fun and eagerly anticipated things I think you can grow in any garden is squash. They come in so many different shapes and sizes and they're great fun for kid's and adults to grow alike.

This weekend, we were, rather sadly, excited to see our first onion squash appear (see pic). This year we had opted for the Pumpkins, Butternut and Onion Squash varieties, but the Butternut's failed to germenate, we were gutted - so then there were two.

Last year my Pumpkin Shepherd's Pie went down a treat, but I have a little friend Di aka 'crazy mama', who has a slight obsession for all things goats cheese at the moment, so I am looking forward to seeing what she can cook up with an onion squash or two - the one above has her name on it, so watch this space for her recipe come the end of Summer...
